Although I have sensitive combination skin that's prone to dryness and lots of irritation, I thought I'd try CoverFX's Clearprep FX Matte Foundation Primer and Anti-Acne Treatment. Why you may ask, to combat the tendency for my T-zone to grease up in the humid NE summer. Clearprep is a lightweight creme-gel that is rapidly absorbed. Upon contact on the skin it has a calming and cooling effect. Unlike most acne products and makeup it doesn't dry out skin or cause it to flake. I was pleasantly surprised as some primers tend to make my skin go psycho. As the guinea pig, this is definitely ok for sensitive skin.
As a base for makeup, the primer evens out and fills in surface uneveness and provides an excellent canvas for color and base. Foundation glides on smoothly and stays put all day while the greasies are controlled. Best of all with this primer you can skip out on using powder.
Worn alone, Clearprep achieves a similar effect to wearing transluscent powder. Because the formula is relatively hydrating and great at controlling shine, it is still possible to achieve a dewy look with this product.
This product is great if you're after a primer that cuts shine, helps makeup last longer and keeps pimples and acne under control. What would make this product better is if it could also work on fading scars and curbing redness.
